We are so proud to share some photos of Professor Professor Smita Shah OAM receiving her Medal of Order of Australia (OAM) at the award ceremony on Thursday evening. Smita is based at Westmead Hospital, working as a fulltime Community Physician and the Director of the Prevention Education and Research Unit. She has received this award in recognition of her work in community health; with a particular focus on health concerns for young people relating to asthma, e-cigarettes and drug use.

Smita Shah is the Director of PERU, WSLHD and Clinical Professor at Faculty of Medicine & Health, the University of Sydney. Smita has provided leadership in her field and was recently recognised for her work in the community on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia.
