Health Hackathon
The Health Hackathon is an award-winning, capacity building two-day program where high school students work together to collaboratively devise a solution (their campaign) to address their identified health problem. Students are also exposed to different health careers with opportunity to network with industry leaders.
How it Works
Day 1
Students develop a health promotion campaign for NSW Health as their client, with the autonomy to select any health issue that matters to them.
Students receive insights from industry leaders. Through immersive group work, students engage in activities and have industry guiding the campaign development cycle.
Students also can test their ideas and seek support from industry leaders with diverse expertise.
Day 2
Students pitch their campaigns to an audience and judging panel of health and education professionals and young people. Students are evaluated on how well they define the target audience and their needs, describe the campaign and its importance, and demonstrate presentation skills.
